Defoamer is an additive for eliminating foam. In the production and application process of coatings, textiles, medicine, fermentation, papermaking, water treatment and petrochemical industries, a large amount of foam will be generated, which will affect product quality and production process. Based on the suppression and elimination of foam, a specific amount of defoamer is usually added during production.
Defoamers can be divided into many types according to different classification standards, such as solid particle type, emulsion type, dispersion type, oil type and paste type;
According to the application of defoamers in different industrial production, they can be divided into textile industry defoamers, papermaking industry defoamers, coating industry defoamers, food industry defoamers and petroleum industry defoamers;
According to the chemical structure and composition of defoamers, they can be divided into mineral oils, alcohols, fatty acids and fatty acid esters, amides, phosphates, silicones, polyethers, and polyether-modified polysiloxane defoamers.
